Dear Dr. Malott:

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to you to see if you could assist me and my current employer, The Sonya Ansari Center for Autism at Logan, (www.logancenter.org <http://www.logancenter.org/> http://www.regionalautismcenter.org/) in finding a BCBA to work with families and professionals in the Northern Indiana and Southwest Michigan area.

I have attached a breif summary of services we offer. The new hire would work with me (which as you know can be such a challenge -hee-hee), and work with families and children in the home and at the center, at local schools, and along side other professionals in the community.

Behavior Consultants offer a variety of services through the center.

I have attached a summarized list of services I currently offer to families, for a detailed job description, please contact Dan Ryan, our Director at 574-289-4831 or via email at danr@logancenter.org .

If you know of any current or future BCBA's who might be interested in a position, please pass this information along. We would like to fill this position no later than December 1, 2009. (sooner the better :) for the right candidate)

Interested candidates can send information to me, Kristin Wier at kristinw@logancenter.org .

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Kristin Grumbine Wier (BATS 2002) :)

The Board of Directors for the EIC is considering expanding our center and opening a second location. If we do go forth with this we will be looking to hire another Clinical Director for that position. They would need to have a Masters degree and be eligible to sit for the BCBA exam if they don't already have it. Are you aware of any of your current students or students in other labs that will be graduating in December and looking to stay in Michigan? If not, do you know of anyone who would be graduating in April and looking to stay in Michigan and possibly work part time through their last semester? As I mentioned this isn't a for sure decision, but we are looking at the options and would just like to have an idea of how many applicants we might have. Thank you!

Hey Dr. Malott~

I hope you and BATS are doing well. I am currently working as a supervisor at Advance Kids in Sacramento, California; the company is strictly ABA based and has a number of BCBA's on staff; I am sending you this in hopes that you will forward this on to upcoming graduates of BATS (summer or December). The in-home department (of which I currently supervise) is looking to take on a few new consultants this coming fall-winter. This would be an excellent opportunity for students coming out of BATS to start out in the field. If anyone is graduating this or next year and is looking for an exciting opportunity to move across the country and get started in the field, I would be more than happy to set up a phone interview with myself and my director. Again, I hope you are doing well and I look forward in hearing from you! :)

You can reach me at anytime at: rbaldus@advancekids.com

Current Staff consists of 9 students all getting their Master’s at North Eastern University working with 9 autistic children. Anyone with an outside Master’s would probably be hired in as a teacher. (at least for the first year) and move quickly to a
coordinator position, and finally as specialist. Very few people get
promoted as directors without a doctoral degree.

Very Skinnerian environment

They plan to be starting a Ph.D. program onsite, which may
be attractive to someone with a Masters.

Family Compass

My name is Dr. Moshe Shtuhl, I am a psychologist and the director of Family Compass, a private child psychology practice in Reston Virginia. We are currently providing intensive interventions for young children with autism and other developmental difficulties. Dr. Sharon Major, a BCBA, is on our staff. We use a variety of modalities to address the children's neuropsychological and developmental needs; including verbal-behavior, elements of ABA, emotionally-based interactions ("floor time"), other structured language curriculums, some elements of pediatric occupational therapy, etc.
Unfortunately, Dr. Major is leaving our practice in June and we are looking for a person with strong behavioral background, who is interested in the integration of approaches to best customize intervention to each child's needs. I believe that the work here is quite rewarding with significant opportunity for personal and professional growth.

I would greatly appreciate your guidance in regard to finding such a person. You could email me back at familycompass@aol.com, or call me at 703 471 5517 ext. 1. Also, feel free to forward this email to whoever might be interested.
